George Garnhart (5)
|
|
Son of Son of Elizabeth Goshorn and Daniel Garnhart (4), he did not succeed as a gold-digger as well as his more vigorous brother, Jacob. The climate of that section of California, as well as the fatiguing toil of digging, did not seem to agree with his constitution, as most of the time he was not able to work. He returned home in October, 1853, where he then resided in Galion, OH, and after a continued life-struggle of about three years, he passed into the realm of rest and peace (from Heinrich Gernhardt and His Descendants, pp. 121-122). |
