Francis Freeman, Cora Alice Houck, and children Irene and Freeman Pierce Fetterman

Francis Freeman was the son of Lydia Ann Reichard and Lloyd Jonathan or “John” Fetterman. He married Cora Alice Houck, daughter of Daniel and Mary Houck of Locust Township, PA. Irene and Freeman Pierce were two of the seven children born of this marriage. Their infants Flossie and Donald are also buried here as well as their oldest son, Walter A. In 1900, Francis and Cora were living in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, but by 1910, Francis was living with his children and a housekeeper in Conyngham Township, Columbia County. It was interesting that they listed the occupations of these men on this headstone: Francis Freeman was listed as being a blacksmith and musician, and his son Freeman Pierce was listed as being a driver.

Sometime after 1910 and before 1920, Francis remarried to a Maggie Estella (last name unknown), and by her, they had one more daughter who is still living. Francis was living in Aristes, PA, at the time of his death.

Picture of headstone was taken on June 24, 2003.
