Lloyd Jonathan "John" and Lydia Ann Reichard Fetterman

This headstone was probably the find of my entire trip. I arrived at this cemetery specifically to document the headstone of Allen Ellsworth Fetterman but never expected to come upon this one.

Lloyd Jonathan “John” was the son of Elizabeth and Charles Fetterman. He married Lydia Ann, daughter of Sarah and Andreas/Andrew Reichard on February 17, 1867. Their marriage was announced in the Columbia Democrat on February 20, 1867, and in the Columbian on February 22, 1867. They had six children, with one son, Frederic, dying sometime after the 1870 Census and before the 1880 Census.

On a trip to the county courthouse in Bloomsburg, we did not locate a Will nor a Letter of Administration for John but we were successful in locating one for Lydia. In the Will, she named all of her children and the husbands of her daughters as follows:

She also named her son Curtis and her son-in-law Fred Blass as executors of her estate. Also attached was her certificate of death, documenting the date as I have listed it above. It was also listed by the Register of Wills that Fred Blass had died previous to the execution of the Will, leaving Curtis as sole executor of her estate. Lydia was living in Conyngham Township at the time of her death. The third and final accounting of the Will was listed as October 30, 1940.
