David Edward Fetterman

David Edward Fetterman was the son of Meda Loretta Scott and Adam Wilson Fetterman, a farmer from Locust Township, Columbia County, PA. David was born in Luzerne County, PA, and he graduated from the former Locust Township High School in 1929. Outside of his service in the U. S. Army during World War II, seeing action in Rhineland and Central Europe, he farmed almost his entire life at his Locust Township farm near Numidia. For his service, David was awarded a service medal and three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the North Kulp Hunting Club, the American Legion, and VFW in Catawissa.

As can be seen above, his wife Hazel is still living, so information about her will not be listed here. Five children were born of this marriage with a son, David E. Fetterman, Jr., who predeceased him on February 18, 1980. He was also predeceased in death by his sister, Minnie McCarthy, and a grandson. In addition to his wife and children, he was survived by 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

David was laid to rest on Thursday, December 20, 1994.
