Elizabeth Miller Fetterman

Daniel was the son of Hannah Leiby and Simon Fetterman. He and the former Elizabeth Miller, both of Locust Township, Columbia County, PA, were married on May 27, 1867. Their marriage was announced in the Star of the North on May 10, 1867, and in the Columbia Democrat on May 13, 1867.

In 1870, they were living in Centralia with their daughter and Daniel was working driving a team. In 1880, they were now living in Locust Township where Daniel had bought a farm along with the four children that were born of the marriage. At this time, Elizabeth’s widowed mother was also living with them. The children born of this marriage were:

  1. Christianna;
  2. Samuel;
  3. Isaac H.; and
  4. William J.

As of 1900, only their son William was still at home working as a farm laborer on their farm. Daniel died without a Will, and Letters of Administration were granted to his son Isaac Fetterman and Willam Hildenbrand. After his death, Elizabeth went to live with her daughter’s family. By 1920, she was living at the State Hospital for the Insane in Mahoning Township, Montour County, PA, and she died the following year.

Picture of headstone was taken on June 27, 2003.
