Jennie Atilla, daughter of Elemina Gackenbach and Charles Alfred Gernerd, married Ernest Harry Baines on October 22, 1896. Ernest was born in New Jersey, and his parents were both born in England.

In the census for 1910, Jennie and Ernest were living with her widowed mother on Hamilton Street in Allentown, PA. Ernest was working as a foreman in a silk mill. By 1930, Jennie and Ernest were living in Perkasie Township, Bucks County, PA, on Walnut Street. At this time, Ernest was the proprietor of a silk mill. They owned their own home, and Ernest was not a veteran. There were no children born of this marriage.
