Lucetta Sarah Eisenhart and Benjamin German Gernert

Benjamin was the eleventh child born to Catharine Siegfried Brobst and John Gernert. He was married twice, his first marriage being to Caroline Gackenbach. By this marriage, three children were born: Catharine, Martha, and Isabella Eleanor. I located Benjamin in an 1850 census, and at that time, he was living with his wife Caroline in Upper Macungie, and their daughter Catharine was just seven months old.

He married Lucetta Sarah Eisenhart on February 21, 1862, and three children were born of this marriage: Selden Morris L., Addie Lora Manerva, and Alvertie Carthagina. In 1880, Benjamin and Lucetta were living in Trexlertown, PA, and Benjamin was working in an ore bed as was his son Selden. I next found Lucetta working as a servant in the home of Daniel Miller, a widower living in Coplay Borough, in 1910. At this time, she was a widow and 73 years of age, and in this image, she was listed as Sarah Gernert.

This branch of the family descends from Anna Rosina Fetterman and John Gernhardt.
