Harvey was the oldest son born to Caroline Billig and Leander Fetterman. On December 1, 1889, he married Mary Ellen, daughter of Mary Ann and David Long of Millgrove, Columbia County, PA. Their marriage was announced in the Catawissa News Item on December 5, 1889. Five children were born of this marriage. In 1900, they were making their home in Danville Township in Montour County, PA, and Harvey was working as a cinder snapper. At this time, they had four children:
By 1910, they were living in Franklin Township, Columbia County, Harvey was now working as a laborer doing odd jobs, and their daughters Viola and Elsie were no longer in the home. They had one more son born to them:
In the census for 1920, Mary Ellen was now widowed and living in Danville Township. She was working as a laundress in the Danville Laundry. Living with her was her youngest son William Kimber. Picture of headstone was taken on September 25, 2003. |
