Lawrence Edgar “Jim” Fetterman, third child and first son of Lydia Alice Houck and Lawrence Fetterman of Locust Township, Columbia County, PA. Jim was a veteran of World War II. He married Eleanor Esther, daughter of the late Grant and Lois Miller Levan of Beaver Township, Columbia County, PA. She was adopted by the late Harry E. and Della Miller Singley at the age of three. Upon their marriage, they lived in the same home in Catawissa, Columbia County, PA, that Eleanor had grown up in since the age of three. They were married for 52 years when Jim passed away.

In her earlier years, Eleanor was employed by the former Catawissa Shoe Factory, Harry Stewart Grocery and Weis Markets, all of Catawissa. She was a life member of the Catawese Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 265, Catawissa. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. At the time of her death, Eleanor was survived by one son and one daughter, three grandchildren, a brother, and one sister. She was buried on August 23, 2000. This information was obtained from Eleanor's obituary (The Press Enterprise, August 21, 2000).
