Laura Agnes was the second daughter of Sarah Bittner and David Fetterman of Locust Township, Columbia County, PA. In 1900, Agnes was working as a servant in the home of Lucinda and Edward Cleaves. The census shows her being born in October 1877. In 1910, she was now working as a servant in the home of her future in-laws, Mary and William Francis Rhoads of Conyngham Township. Her husband William was also listed listed in the home of his parents; he was 26 in this image and working as a laborer for the water works. Although I found her in-laws in the census for Conyngham Township in 1920, neither she nor William showed up in this census. In 1930, Agnes surfaced once again living with her in-laws. This image showed that she was now 51 and widowed. At this time, she had no occupation. Agnes and William are buried next to their daughter, Laura Agnes. Pictures of headstones were taken on September 25, 2004. |
