Charles was the eighth child born to Sarah Alice Frye Beaver and George Washington Fetterman, born in Ringtown, Union Township in Schuylkill County, PA. As a young boy, he worked on the home farm. By 1930, he was working as a carpenter in the coal mines and living with his mother who was widowed.

He married Mary B. Dennison who was born in Zions Grove, PA, the daughter of Emma Rhoads and Elmer Dennison. Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ringtown and belonged to various organizations of the church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ringtown. Of this marriage, a son and daughter were born. At this time, I have been unable to locate more information on Charles.
