Anna Dora Lindenmuth and William Jacob Fetterman

William was the youngest son of Elizabeth Miller and Daniel Fetterman, and he was born in Locust Township, Columbia County, PA. About 1903, he married Anna Dora, daughter of Sevilla and George Lindenmuth, a farmer, of Union Township, Schuylkill County, PA. Of this marriage, ten children were born:

  1. George;
  2. Alverta;
  3. Claude;
  4. Irwin;
  5. Paul;
  6. Erma;
  7. Lawrence;
  8. Blanche;
  9. Wilmer; and
  10. Hazel.

Early in their marriage, they rented a home on Centre Street in Conyngham Township, where they lived with their first three children, and William earned a living as a miner. In 1920, they were living in Union Township, Schuylkill County, PA, and William was still working as a miner. At this time, they now had nine children, and the oldest son was out of school and also worked in the coal mines. As of 1930, the last year for which censuses are available, Anna was widowed and renting in Union Township. Her youngest daughter had also been born and the oldest two children had left home. At this time, her sons Claude and Erwin were working in the mines and son Paul was working as a laborer doing odd jobs.
