Betty was the oldest daughter of Arline H. McClintock and Myron William “Abe” Fetterman, and she was born in Berwick Borough, Columbia County, PA. She was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School. Of faith, she was a Lutheran. Betty was married in 1948, and she and her husband were living in Boykins, Virginia. Of this marriage, one child was born who predeceased her.

In addition to her husband, she was survived by two sisters, a stepsister, a stepbrother, and a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
