Glen was the only son and one of two children born to Grace D. Oberdorf and Glen Wark, and he was born in Berwick Borough, Columbia County, PA. On his headstone reads PFC 93rd Engr. Heavy Equip. Co., World War II, and his father's obituary mentioned that Glen died in service to his country.
