Albert Lee George, Sr., was the only son of two children born to Barbara Ida Watts and Jeremiah Albert George. Albert was born July 29, 1903 in Kratzerville, Snyder County, PA. The census for 1910 showed Albert as a student attending school. By 1920, he was longer in school, and he worked as a laborer at a dye works.

Wedding photo of Albert Lee George, Sr. & Florence Pauline KreiderOn September 25, 1920, Albert was married to Florence Pauline Kreider at Zion Lutheran Church in Kratzerville. Pauline, as she was known, was born July 19, 1902, in Monroe Township, Snyder County, PA, the youngest of four children born to Mary Ann Troxell and Jackson M. Kreider. Early in their marriage, they resided in Kratzerville, but they moved to Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA, where they raised their family.

Six children were born of this marriage:

  1. Albert Lee, Jr., b. May 1, 1921, d. September 14, 1987;
  2. Louise Charlotte, b. October 11, 1922, d. January 6, 1949;
  3. Aberdeen;
  4. Walter, b. December 8, 1925, d. June 5, 1942;
  5. Jay Carwell, b. October 18, 1927, d. May 7, 1993; and
  6. Lucille.

Albert & Pauline (Kreider) GeorgeBy 1930, Albert worked as a fireman for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Sunbury, and he worked for that company until he retired in 1971. During this time, they and their family were members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sunbury.

When Albert passed in 1977, his death severed a marital union of almost 57 years.

Pauline remained in their home at 228 North 12 Street until shortly before her death. She had been a member of the Eastern Star 266, Railroad Women's Lodge of Sunbury, and had changed her church affiliation to the Catawissa United Methodist Church. At the time of her death, she was survived by four children, 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
